MPhil stands for Master of Philosophy. It is a 2-year postgraduate academic research course which is now discontinued. According to Regulation No 14 of UGC’s new regulations, higher education institutions are strictly prohibited from offering M.Phil programmes. Candidates who wish to pursue an MPhil program can instead look for PhD courses.

Candidates can do an Mphil or Master of Philosophy Course in Arts and Humanities, Science, Management, Psychology, Commerce, etc. The MPhil Courses Admission is done on the basis of merit or entrance examination, followed by an interview round in Top MPhil Colleges.
MPhil can be pursued in several specializations and graduates can apply for job profiles such as Economist, Psychologists, Professors, Academic Researchers, etc. The average salary of an MPhil graduate ranges between INR 7 – 9 LPA depending upon their job sectors.
