University (SDM University) was formed on October 19, 2018 as a State Private
University of Karnataka State in Sattur, Dharwad, under the Shri Dharmasthala
Manjunatheshwara University Act.
The University has been sponsored by
Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Educational (SDME) Society, Ujire, Dakshina
Kannada District, Karnataka, a premier non-profit Educational Society. This
Society operates under the auspices of Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala and under the
excellent Leadership of Poojya Shri D. Veerendra Heggade, the Chancellor of the
University. Dr. Niranjan Kumar, a well-known plastic surgeon, is the first Vice
Chancellor of the University.

you finally get there you'll realize it was well worth it. This is a type of
school that is aimed to not just produce scholars, but also providing
affordable higher education for all students. This helps contribute to the
development of the area, which is the second goal for the institution. The
school was founded as a private institution on December 19th, 2018 located in
Sattur, Dharwad in Karnataka. It is possible to think that from the name school
just that SDM university is sponsored by a renowned non-profit organisation,
referred to by the name of Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara education society
(SDME) that has been in the area of healthcare and education since Gurukul's
"Siddhavana" in 1903 till the present day.

SHRI
DHARMASTHALA MANJUNATHESHWARA UNIVERSITY Dharwad. has
created quite a name for itself over the years. It is recognised by the
University Grants Commission (UGC) and approved by the Medical Council of
India. It offers various Undergraduate and Postgraduate
courses in the fields of Medicine and Science.
Admission to this
college is completely based on merit. Admission to the UG courses is based on
the performance of the candidates in the NEET examination and admission to the
PG courses is based on their performance in NEET PG examination. Candidates can
either fill the application form on online and offline mode.
The University's Chancellor is a visionary leader whose ambition
was to establish an affordable Centre of Excellence in Medical Education and
Healthcare for the people of North Karnataka. The University and its constituent
institutions provide exceptional education and healthcare under the skilled
leadership of the Chancellor and Vice Chancellor. The University provides a
very conducive environment throughout the campus, with contemporary
infrastructure, hostels and nutritional meals.
Library:
The Institute has a spacious centralized air-conditioned library with a facility of 4
reading rooms. The library consists of 13,502 books with more than 200
national and international journals. Also, the library has a subscription of
1,349 e-journals. Computer, along with internet facilities is provided to both
student and teaching staff.
Hostel:
The Institute provides hostel facilities with 140 rooms available for boys & 260
rooms for girls separately. Hostel rooms provide facilities like a cupboard,
separate study rooms with the connectivity of computers & internet,
comfortable beds, bathrooms and attached toilet facilities. (SDM) hostel is
situated inside the Dharwad, Karnataka campus. SDM hostel rooms are available on basis of sharing. One hostel
room can accommodate 3 people. There are 125 rooms available for boys
& the remaining 214 rooms are available for girls separately. The hostel
can accommodate nearly 600 students. All students need to follow the college
hostel rules as per the management.
