MEWAR UNIVERSITY - MU (CHITTORGARH)

Mewar University, established as an autonomous body by the Government of Rajasthan through Act No. 4 of 2009, is a private and self-financed institution located at Gangrar in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan. Recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 2(f) and empowered to confer degrees under Section 22(1) of the UGC Act, 1956, Mewar University is unique in Rajasthan as the only private university approved by the UGC under Section 12B of the UGC Act.

Key Recognitions and Approvals:

UGC Recognition: Mewar University is recognized by the UGC under Section 2(f) and holds the power to confer degrees under Section 22(1) of the UGC Act, 1956. It is also approved under Section 12B of the UGC Act, as per a letter dated 15th October 2018.

Membership and Accreditation: The university is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and holds accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

Approvals for Various Courses: Mewar University has received approvals from several regulatory bodies for its courses, including the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), Bar Council of India (BCI), Indian Association of Physiotherapists (IAP), National Cadet Corps (NCC), National Service Scheme (NSS), and the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).

Deemed-to-be University Status: Mewar Institute of Engineering & Technology in Meerut has been granted Deemed-to-be University status by the Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Higher Education.

The university, promoted by the Mewar Education Society (MES), is under the leadership of Chairperson Shri Ashok Kumar Gadiya. The MES, through a Board of Management, oversees the functioning of the university and has established various institutes of higher education and learning, including Mewar Institute of Management, Mewar Law Institute, Mewar Girls College, Mewar Girls Ayurved Nursing Centre, Mewar Girls Industrial Training Centre, and Mewar Girls College of Teachers Training.
